Joyce Varughese, MD

Dr. Varughese has been in practice since 2013. Prior to coming to Saint Peter’s, Dr. Varughese was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine, and an Attending Physician at Stony Brook School of Medicine and Stony Brook Hospital in New York. She previously served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut.

Dr. Varughese has received numerous awards and has presented her findings at national meetings and in peer-reviewed journals. she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, from Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Bronx, New York. Dr. Varughese completed her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hosptial/ Yale University and also completed her Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Yale University.

Dr. Varughese is committed to a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment and management of cancer, including incorporating complementary therapies. She believes in keeping the referring physician as part of the team, especially during surveillance. Dr. Varughese is also trained in robotic surgery.
