
About John Gallucci, MD
Dr. Gallucci, Pediatric and Neonatal General and Thoracic Surgeon is Chief of Pediatric Surgery at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. He graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1990 and completed a six-year General Surgery Residency at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ. Dr. Gallucci then traveled to Montreal, Province of Quebec, Canada, for a two-year Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at McGill University’s Montreal Children’s Hospital until 1998. His first position as General Pediatric Surgery was in 1998 to 2001 at Newark Beth Israel and Saint Barnabas Hospital in NJ, where he was the Division Chief of General Pediatric Surgery and also first assists on all newborn Open Heart Operations.
Dr. Gallucci goal has always been to create the very best experience and outcomes for babies, children, and families that require Pediatric Surgery. As a testament to his commitment, Dr. Gallucci was given the “ Creating a Positive Experience “ Award in 2017 where he was chosen by families and patients. Since 2008, Dr. Gallucci has been chosen more than ten times by his colleagues in New Jersey Monthly Magazine as TOP DOCTOR in Pediatric Surgery.
