Saint Peter’s Physician Associates Again Expands Access to Network of Physicians

The Saint Peter’s Physician Associates (SPPA), part of the Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, continues to expand its network of primary and specialty care physicians. SPPA has opened a new location in Piscataway and expanded its endocrinology services in Monroe Township into a larger, nearby space. The newly opened primary and specialty care office is located at 1636 Stelton Road at Fairways Towne Center, Suite 301, in Piscataway. The endocrinology practice, which specializes in diabetes care and education, has moved from 294 Applegarth Road next door to 298 Applegarth Road in Monroe Township.

“We are proud to now offer primary and specialty care services to the residents of Piscataway, as well as neighboring communities in our new facility,” said Leslie Hirsch, interim CEO and president of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System. “This new location expands Saint Peter’s outpatient services and demonstrates the commitment to our mission of providing access to a high level of quality and compassionate care for the residents of central New Jersey.”

The primary and specialty care physicians at the new Piscataway practice will help adults 18 years and older to manage all aspects of their health care, from wellness and routine screening to disease prevention, including the diagnosis and treatment of such illnesses as asthma, arthritis, breast cancer, the common cold and flu, diabetes and heart disease, among others. SPPA in Piscataway is open five days a week and offers several evenings and Saturdays, as well. While appointments are recommended, walk-ins are also accepted.

The physicians, members of the Saint Peter’s University Hospital medical staff, include: Archna Parmar, DO, and Megha Rao, MD, internal medicine/primary care; Susan McManus, MD, breast surgeon and director, Rose Mustafa, MD, and Lisa Hopkins, MD, breast surgeons, and Kim Dixon, MD, internal medicine/breast health, of Saint Peter’s Breast Center; and Meena Murthy, MD, chief, Division of Endocrinology, Saint Peter’s University Hospital, and Hongxiu Luo, MD, endocrinologists specializing in the diagnosis and management of diabetes.

Endocrinologists Rajesh Dev, MD, and Muriel Levy-Kerns, MD, will be seeing patients at the new Applegarth Road location in Monroe Township. Certified Diabetes Educator Therese Wyman, RD, CDE, will teach diabetes education at the new location.

“The goal of Saint Peter’s Physician Associates is to offer residents of the communities we serve primary care with access to specialists in an outpatient setting, without having to travel to the hospital or a separate location,” said Dr. McManus, who also serves as president of Saint Peter’s Physician Associates. “However, should our patients need specialized diagnostic testing or have a serious illness or injury that requires them to see other specialists or even a hospital stay, our physicians will work with them to make the appropriate referrals,” adding that Saint Peter’s will be evaluating the needs of the community to determine bringing additional specialty services to the Piscataway practice.
